- The final serial number had nothing to do with the assembly code number (although there are some exceptions to this that have been noted). So, you have an all matching pistol. Does it have the fancy entwined 'GC' (Gabilondo y Cia) on the right side of the frame to the rear?
- Here's serial number 2672, a very similar gun to 1768 - large grips, fine panel grooves, small ring hammer - with the same triad, but it's hell to read - We can't say for sure that that's the early triad on there unless we can figure out if the illegible figure is the familiar lion rampant.
- The right side says LLAMA 'ESPECIAL'. Right side of frame has serial no#208131. Left side has some marking and then the letter D I believe that is the year marking for 1931. The problem I am having is that the D says its made in 1931 but the pictures for this gun say they started manufacture in 1933.

Same firm that was founded in 1904 and produced several inexpensive revolvers and pistols prior to 1931. In 1931, company began to produce a semi-automatic pistol based on Colt Model 1911. They were of high quality and have been sold around the world. After Spanish civil war, company moved its facilities to Vitoria, Spain, where it continued to build handguns under Llama trade name. In 1980s, firm introduced a new line of pistols that were more modern in design and function. Llama pistol is still produced today. For Llama pistols built prior to 1936 slide marking reads: 'GABILONDO Y CIA ELOEIBAR (ESPANA) CAL 9MM/.380IN LLAMA'. For pistols built after 1936 slide marking reads: 'LLAMA GABILONDO Y CIA ELOEIBAR (ESPANA) CAL 9MM .380'. Current production Llama pistols will show a slide marking with 'LLAMA CAL...' or 'GABILONDO Y CIA VITORIA (ESPANA)' and Llama logo.
